a hole in ONE par-tee!

October 17, 2020

My baby Mack turned ONE in September and we had such a great day celebrating his first year. I love a good theme, hosting, and decorating so I made sure the details were there for his big day. I went with a golf theme because Mike (my husband) loves golf & I came across the cutest baby Masters jacket that nudged me to go with the golf theme. It was a good one!

Most of the signs & cake topper were done using a Cricut, but I linked everything else that I could link at the bottom of this page. If you are looking for something that I didn’t link, just reach out and I’ll be happy to let you know where it came from!

Let’s Par Tee! Mack is ONE!

A Hole in ONE Par Tee! Mack “mastered” his first year!

To start, the invite was so fun! It had so many puns that made for a good snicker, especially if you know golf terms. I ordered the invite off of Etsy & edited it myself to get the correct information on it.

Balloon Arch– I used a different technique this go around and it was easier than what I had been doing all along. I will say this arch wasn’t as full as arches in the past, but it was definitely less time consuming (thank goodness!). I always get my balloons from Hobby Lobby & Party City.

A good friend let me use the homemade wooden ONE sign after her daughter’s first birthday & I just put a golf touch to it.

Cake, Sweet Treats, & Food!

I learned a lesson from the past when it comes to the smash cake & I refuse to spend much money on it (basically Knox didn’t touch his & I spent an insane amount of money on it). This time around I took a picture to Mariano’s Bakery & they did this cute cake for only $12! What a deal! It was perfect for a smash cake. I went with the double layer- 5 inch size. I made the cake topper with my Cricut. If you’re in the southwest Chicagoland Suburbs, The Artful Baker was fantastic to work with when it came to designing the cookies. They were adorable and exactly what I told her I wanted.

The rest of the party food revolved around Mack’s name (Big Macks, Mack & Cheese bites, Mack-a-roons) or golf themed (“Chip it” for the chips, “Slice” for watermelon slices & of course a must was the Arnold Palmer drink- 1/2 lemonade 1/2 iced tea).

Party Fun!

We had a bounce house set up for the older kiddos, along with put put golf holes that Mike made. I was able to snag end of summer golf sets from Hobby Lobby for each kiddo! Hobby Lobby also had cute visors that were perfect for the kids. I ordered a ton of plastic golf balls & tees for the put put holes.

“The Pro Shop” Souvenirs for the kiddos!
Center Pieces- Cookies, Tees, Visors & fake grass.

Mack’s Birthday Attire

I ordered a few items off of Etsy for his special day! The Masters green coat was a must & I just ironed on the Masters patch. The rest of the family coordinated with white polos and golf attire… which was easy for Mike, not so easy for me. I ordered my golf dress from Amazon. His birthday “1” hat came from Amazon as well and made for a great cake eating prop!

Perfect Polo with a 1 on the flag!
The rest of the family opted for white polos to match! šŸ™‚

That’s a wrap on Mack’s 1st birthday details. I had such a great time planning it and I think people really enjoyed it. Just remember- when it comes to planning a party, it’s all in the details! Let me know if you have any questions. You can shop all items below or take a peek at the inspiration board for some party planning inspo! HAPPY PLANNING!

Cheers!
