Hello there! Another room that I just loved fixin’ up! I’m finding that my favorite spaces to decorate these days are all the kids’ spaces. The vision I had for Mack’s room this go around was a cool vibe with a bold statement & something that he can grow into over the years. I adored Mack’s black & white gingham nursery at the old house so much, so I knew I wanted to incorporate the black & white color scheme in this room as well.
Walls– Paint & Decals!
Never in a million years would I have pictured myself putting dark green in a bedroom, BUT I’ve learned to never say never! I found this cool, dark green color that I fell in love with & knew Mack’s room was the only place that I could use it. It’s moody, cool, & a bit bold, which I thought fit Mack’s personality. The dark green is called Woodland (HGSW3282) from the HGTV Sherwin Williams collection. Full disclosure- Sherwin Williams doesn’t have this certain collection in store, so you’ll most likely need to google it to show them at the store. We painted the bottom 5 ft of his walls, SW- Pure White and the top portion SW- Woodland, using painter’s tape & a level to make sure the line was straight.
I came across these fabulous star decals that I thought would be a great touch to the room to make an accent wall. I love the idea of decals, as they are easy to put up and take down when needed! I highly recommend these! I used a measuring tape, level, & pencil with the decals & realized you can’t notice if the stars were a little off. <– yes I just said that! Can you tell my perfectionism is slowing going away (Thank goodness!!).

Stuff– Shelves, Dresser, Portraits
I painted a couple IKEA FLISAT shelves a soft black color that are perfect to display some of our favorite books. I made the pennant using my Cricut & felt.

The portraits were done by a college friend, who is the most artistically talented person I’ve ever known! I thought it would be fun to incorporate Mack & our dog, Nash, with aviator sunglasses to put the final touches on the room. Mack & Nash have a cute bond & so I knew I wanted to do something with both of them. The portraits are 16x20s & framed by the black IKEA 16×20 RIBBA frames. If you need some artwork done, check out my friend’s website- she can do it all & is simply AMAZING! Her website is: www.brookeOneilldesign.com or her instagram page is: brookeoneill.illustration.

The dresser was Mike’s old dresser from his bachelor days that I painted white and added black hardware to. The MACK letters, lion portrait, & industrial shelf are all from Hobby Lobby. I took his changing pad away at about 10 months old, because he fought laying on that thing so much, so we just started changing him on the floor. I don’t know if its a boy thing, but it feels like I’m fighting a wild chicken every time I change one of the boys. Yikes!
My vision for Mack’s room came together pretty perfectly! Fun & bold, with room to grow over the years! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. š Of course, let me know if you have any questions & I’ll be happy to help. Anything I could link is below for you.
Cheers!
